Who we are
For over 40 years, YMCA Spain has been running summer camps that combine fun activities, personal development, and core YMCA values.
Our programs promote a safe and protective environment, grounded in respect and positive treatment, fostering teamwork, cooperation, and a strong sense of community in an inspiring natural setting.
YMCA Camps - Camp Staff
YMCA has a long-standing tradition in the field of recreation and youth programs, both as an organizer of camps and as a provider of training for counselors and camp directors at its various centers.
We firmly believe in the power of camp as a tool for growth and development in children and teens. Attending a camp is a truly unforgettable experience. The moments and opportunities offered to campers are unlike anything they might encounter in other settings.
The people who make this experience so special, fun, safe, and meaningful for each participant are the camp counselors, coordinators, and camp directors. Our counselors, in addition to being creative and fun, are responsible adults who, in many cases, participated in YMCA programs during their own childhood or work for the organization in other areas throughout the year. They are committed to providing a safe environment and fostering a culture where respect and positive treatment are the core principles of daily life.
Make a difference this summer - International Camp Counselors
YMCA Spain is looking for dynamic and committed camp counselors ready to share their passion in a 100% English-speaking environment. Camp staff will be responsible for designing, organizing, and implementing a high-quality program that promotes YMCA values, teaching conversational English, and leading camp activities alongside Spanish staff. They will also supervise participants, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being in a safe and protective environment, fostering a positive community atmosphere based on respect, positive treatment, and teamwork, and collaborating in the organizational and logistical tasks necessary for the camp’s proper operation.
The “official” language at camp is English and the intention is for the Spanish children to participate in an English immersion experience.

Testimonials
The most positive aspect was the relationships I built with both the participants and the other counselors. In addition, I felt that I gained a lot of self-confidence, especially in my ability to adapt, take on leadership responsibilities, and connect authentically with people
This experience has been truly enriching and has allowed me to grow on a personal level. You spend fifteen days living alongside children and colleagues who end up making you feel like part of a big family. Being a counselor is much more than taking care of children: it’s a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth.
The most positive takeaway from my experience this summer has been the combination of personal growth, professional development, and meaningful connections. Being part of the YMCA Spain overnight camp allowed me to build strong relationships with experienced and passionate staff from different countries, creating a valuable international network.
